Transition of Leadership in SMA's software division
After 23 years of outstanding leadership and dedication to SMA, including 16 years as the Head of the Software Division, Dr. Thomas Bickel has decided to step down from this operational role at the end of 2025. This transition has been carefully planned, coordinated, and is fully supported by SMA's Executive Management Team.
We are pleased to announce that Björn Glaus has taken over leadership of SMA's Software Division. Having been responsible for SMA’s software production team and serving as Thomas’ deputy for over ten years, Björn brings extensive experience to the role and is the natural successor. This smooth transition will ensure business continuity and stability.
We are very fortunate that Thomas will remain with SMA as Chairman of the Board, where he will continue to lead key strategic projects at this level.
SMA looks forward to continuing our collaboration with Björn, now part of SMA’s Executive Management, and Thomas, on the Board of Directors, as we move confidently into the future.
